The 1973 MCA double-LP entitled 41 ORIGINAL HITS FROM THE SOUNDTRACK OF AMERICAN GRAFFITI (MCA2-8001) was issued in a gatefold cover. This was designed for stackable changers, with Sides One and Four on the first disc, Two and Three on the second.

As popular as the movie it''s from , "41 Original Hits" was RIAA Certified Triple Platinum, peaking at #10 on Billboard''s 200 chart.

The only oldie featured in the film that''s not here is "Gee" by the Crows.
Also, "Ain''t That a Shame" is a remake and "Party Doll" fades prematurely.

Includes release dates, plus highest Billboard Hot 100 and R&B chart positions (where applicable).

When my mom was young and the 1960''s, she always loved this kind of music and still does. My sixth grade teacher also loves this CD as well. I recommend you get this CD if you are a big fan of good time oldies!

I first heard this album years ago upon its release (before I saw the movie) and I was utterly hooked! I bought the album but subsequently ''lost'' it (and many others) in a burglary. I searched for a replacement for years only to be told by a very high profile record store that it had been deleted! Now finally I have found a copy! My life is a little more complete now! The Wolfman Jack voice overs really add to the overall panache of this slick compilation of classic tracks which serve to perfectly evoke 1960''s American teen spirit. A must for any rock ''n'' roll fan or anyone interested in nostalgia. Go buy this album now!
